matching gifts
Many employers will match the gifts of employees, retirees and members of the corporate board when their gifts are made to nonprofit organizations, such as The Community House. The amount of your personal gift can be doubled or even tripled at no additional cost to you if your company has a Matching Gift Program. Please contact your company’s community affairs or human resources department to see if a matching gift plan is available and if The Community House is eligible.
funding the future
Join our efforts to build programs and services for the future! Funding the Future is a current capital campaign to reduce the remaining debt from our facility expansion. A donation to this capital campaign allows us to plan efficiently for a debt free future for The Community House.
grants and foundations
We are grateful for the many foundations and granting organizations that support The Community House. For more information about funding opportunities, please contact Dan!
gifts of appreciated securities or real estate
Stocks (including mutual funds), many bonds, other securities and property make ideal contributions to The Community House. When considering the sale of a particular holding, it is important to first check with a professional advisor to determine its suitability as a charitable gift.
STOCK GIFTS
A gift of appreciated securities held for more than one year may provide significant benefits to you as a contributor, such as:
- Entitling you to a charitable income tax deduction for the fair market value of the gifted securities as of the date of gift.
- Eliminating capital gains tax that would ordinarily become due if you had sold the appreciated securities on the open market and donated the proceeds from the sale to charity.
- Claiming your charitable deduction against up to 30% of your adjusted gross income. Any unused deductions can be carried forward over the next five years.
- Providing a way to help you to achieve your long-term financial objective of reducing your income and estate taxes.
JORDAN CRIST SCHOLARSHIP FUND
The Community House believes an individual’s economic situation should not be a barrier to participation in our recreational activities. Created in 2007, in honor of Jordan Crist’s kind and generous spirit, the Jordan Crist Scholarship Fund provides financial scholarships for those who are unable to afford the fees charged for programs at The Community House. The generous support of Jordan’s family and friends, united with individual donations from the community, have provided scholarships for more than 50 children and adults to participate in programs offered at The Community House.
Contact Dan Herrmann at 630-323-7500 Ext. 227 to donate to the Jordan Crist Scholarship Fun!
