Calling all Kindergarten and 1st graders! This 5-game league is the perfect way to introduce your child to basketball and get them excited for Jodie Harrison Basketball! This league will emphasize learning the rules and fundamentals of basketball.

Rosters and Schedules will be available mid-October.

• 1 game and 1 practice per week, 5 games per team on Saturdays. Practices take place either Tuesday or Thursday
• 10 children per roster, co-ed. Kindergarten and 1st graders play separately.
• Volunteer coaches are needed! Volunteer coaches assist Breakaway Basketball Coaches during team practices and manage teams during game

• Volunteer coaches are needed for each team and are the backbone of our league!
• Volunteer coaches assist on practice days with Breakaway Basketball and manage their team on games day, team communications, etc.
• Team practice times are based on volunteer coach availability.
• 3 coaches per team max

While we encourage a competitive spirit in all players and coaches, all league decisions are made with the best interest of the majority of children involved. We do make every attempt to place children on a team with at least some of their schoolmates. The Recreation Supervisor will be responsible for selecting all teams and all final team placement decisions. We do not guarantee any coach, team, friend or practice time requests.

• # of boys and girls per team (while taking school into consideration)
• Having a volunteer coach from your child’s school gives the Recreation Supervisor the best opportunity to keep more children from your child’s school together.
• We do not split 1 or 2 children from their school unless requested by parents. The lowest split and is considered being with some children from your child’s school is 3 children from the same school.

• Take place Tuesdays and Thursdays beginning in October at The Community House. Practice Days and Time slots listed below. Teams are assigned to a 1 hour practice slot, 1 day per week.
• Practices are led by Breakaway Basketball coaches with the help of Volunteer Parent Coaches.
• We do NOT guarantee a specific practice day/time. Practice times are determined by volunteer coach availability.

• Take place at The Community House on Saturday’s starting in November.
• Games are every hour on the hour from 9:00-2:00pm, game are rotated between all teams.
• Breakaway Basketball Coaches ref games and Volunteer coaches manage their team, bench, subs, etc.
• Each team is guaranteed 5 games
