WHY WE GIVE
When Jeanne’s family moved to Hinsdale, The Community House quickly became part of their lives. From sports camps to Flag Football, the Jodie Harrison Basketball League, and LyArts, The Community House gave children opportunities to explore, make friends, and simply be kids.
Over the years, Jeanne discovered that The Community House’s impact extends far beyond youth programming. Through her involvement as a parent, event chair, donor, and Board Member, she learned more about The Counseling Center and the Spark Youth Development Initiative. One moment especially stayed with her: hearing a parent share how Spark Youth Development Initiative gave her peace of mind knowing her child was safe, cared for, and receiving academic support while she worked full-time.
For Jeanne, donating to The Community House is an investment in the community she knows and loves. “When you donate to The Community House, you give back to your own family, your own community, your neighbors and friends,” she says. The Community House creates opportunities for connection, friendship, exploration, and support, helping children and families while bringing neighbors together.

Since 1941, The Community House has been a place where neighbors gather, families grow, and our community gives back. For generations, we have been at the heart of Hinsdale, creating meaningful connections, enriching lives, and providing support when it is needed most. The Community House continues to bring people together through recreation, arts, theater, and lifelong learning programs that strengthen the fabric of our community every single day. We do all this without tax support.
This year, through our Give with Heart Annual Fund, we hope to raise $200,000 to ensure these life-changing programs continue to thrive and that no one is ever turned away because of financial barriers.
