TEEN PROGRAMS

At The Community House

We offer a welcoming, supportive environment where teens can explore their interests, develop new skills, and make a positive impact in their community. Whether they’re discovering future career paths, strengthening social-emotional skills, or giving through service, teens are empowered to thrive.

A Place To Belong

At The Community House, teens are more than participants – they’re valued members of our community. Our programs encourage teens to discover who they are, what they care about, and how they can make an impact. Join us and be part of a place where teens gather, grow, and give back.

Leaders in Training Camp

The Leaders in Training Camp empowers teens to step into leadership roles while gaining real-world experience in a supportive and engaging environment. Designed for teens ready to grow as role models, this program helps participants build confidence, responsibility, and communication skills that last a lifetime.

Teens develop essential leadership and life skills through hands-on training, guided activities, and practical experience. Participants learn professionalism, teamwork, decision-making, and how to support younger campers and program participants.

As leaders in training, teens give back by serving as positive role models and contributing to The Community House programs – making a meaningful impact on younger children and the community.

Fortnightly

Now celebrating its 69th year, Fortnightly is a cherished Hinsdale tradition that teaches 8th grade students from the D181 middle schools feeding into Hinsdale Central High School the timeless art of social dance and ballroom etiquette. Led by professional instructors from May I Have This Dance, Inc., students will learn classic dance steps, respectful social interaction, and confidence in formal settings – all in a fun, welcoming environment.

Formal invitations with registration details will be mailed directly to 8th grade families. Additional information will also be shared via email from The Community House and your school’s Fortnightly PTO Chairs ahead of registration opening on Monday, November 9th at 10:00 AM.

Here’s what you can expect:
– A lively atmosphere with a DJ playing age-appropriate music.
